A ride to Oakley and Worminghall on my Brompton
Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 3:55PM
I took a lovely 40km cycle from Christ Church at Oxford University to Oakley and Worminghall today.
The countryside is just amazing!
I am so glad that I brought my Brompton with me to London and Oxford.
Doris has been a great means of transport and a super form or 'otium sanctum' (Holy leisure). As I have ridden this week I have relaxed, reflected, prayed and of course exercised!
Tomorrow I head back to Cape Town from - I will miss Oxford University. But I'll be back. I can't wait to be home with my family again!

Bike has more advantage than other vehicles.
Did you take your bike in your carry-on luggage? Enquiring minds want to know!
Hi Steve,
Thanks so much for your comment! It was awesome to have my bike with me! It saved me quite a bit in tube and bus fare around London, and it was awesome to have it available to explore the countryside during free spaces in the day.
As to your question - I actually checked it into the hold. I've done this before. I packed my clothes around the bike (which had a cover on it so that it didn't get dirt or grease on my clothes). If you scroll down the main page of my blog you will see a few photos and an explanation of how I did it.
You can imagine that I have a few voyager miles from all of the travels that I do. Having silver status allows me to take 30 kg of luggage. The bike and bag were about 17 kg and so I have plenty of space for my clothes and other stuff.
Many blessings,
Dion
